Thanks Cal - I will be a rich guy - one million bucks and able to order any double rifle I want In Vic Falls in July the street sellers started offering one million Zim dollars for 10 US dollars and endend up asking for 1 US dollar. Did not buy it ! I will be in Whitehorse late August - I PM you the dates. Meeting would be good. Unfortunately I do not think I am able to visit in Alaska due to a lot of red tape and papers etc for firearms crossing the US border. Canadian border much easier ! Morten The more I know, the less I wonder !

Hey Ken, what sort of price could we get on a group buy on some .375 Flanged VC doubles? Mike
|

Mike, parden med for asking, but how many double or bolt rifles are you able to own legally in Texas ? Just curious as in Norway a hunter is not allowed to own more than 6 hunting firearms including shotguns. Seem to me that you guys without any problem can have 6 - 10 doubles in addition to a whole lot of bolts and shotguns ? Correct ? Morten The more I know, the less I wonder !

Morten- The number of guns you may have in the US is dependent on the thickness of your wallet and how understanding your wife is. Ken DRSS, PP Chapter Life NRA Life SCI Life DSC

. . . more accurately, how observant your wife is. Okay, what's the group buy price? Mike

Mike- You are correct. In my home we have a do not ask/ do not tell policy on guns. Group buy, why not. Tell me what you have in mind, describe the gun & how many. Ken DRSS, PP Chapter Life NRA Life SCI Life DSC

Sounds like there might be some folks interested in a nice all-round caliber like .375 Flanged. Great for hunting North American game and most things that you would run into in Africa. With a brace of doubles, one in .375 Flanged and one in .470 or .500 NE someone would just about have all the weaponry they would need in life ("need" not "want"). I was thinking about something with a neutral cast, individual LOP and drop, a 1" red Silver's type pad, ejectors, no cheek piece, 26" barrels, one standing and two folding rear sights set up 50, 100, 200 yards, splinter forearm, no palm swell, color case hardened or French whatever is cheaper, round body would be sweet if no extra charge otherwise the regular frame, barrels set up for detachable scope mounts (which can be taken off as an option). So the only "individualized" features would be LOP, drop and w/ or w/o scope set up. Everything else would be "standard" to keep the price down. I am sure the number of people interested would be a function of the price point, and the price point would be a function of the number of people interested. Sort of circular but I think that is just the way it is. Maybe you could quote pricing based on a number of orders, $XXXX for three to five, $YYYY for more than five but less than ten, $ZZZZ for more than ten, something like that. Mike

Wow, very nice rifle and perfect caliber. I do feel sorry for you guys in other countries; we literally have no restrictions on how many guns we can own. As for my wife, she can't count over ten, so everything over that simply blends into the mix.

In Norway we are limited to 6 rifles/shotguns except if some of them count as specialized competition rifles. We enver you the possibility of having a couple of more rifles. It would be optimal to have a couple more as most hunters do not need more than that I think. Strange thing is that if you have a system rifle like Blaser or Mauser M03 etc you are allowed to have up to 3 barrels per system. In that way you may have 6 different Blaser system and 18 barrels. However, different calibers as you are not allowed to own two rifles or barrels in the same caliber. Do not ask me why ! Morten The more I know, the less I wonder !

Lovely rifle in the perfect caliber but appears to have grown a wart on the top of the barrels. Best to have that removed! Dutch

Good one Morten, it turned out wonderfully!!! I don't believe there is anything such as a "cheap " ele hunt, but I'm sure Buzz could make a plan for you in 2015, maybe we could share a camp in Dande?? Cheers mate Nick

That would have been great Nick, but I am booked 3 weeks for Yukon in Canada last part of August and beginning of September. Sorry mate ! I guess that a late season offer could be a possibility... but ... Morten The more I know, the less I wonder !

I handeled Mortens V-C yesterday....and I must say these V-C s impress...I love the round action, it makes the rifle very easy to handle..a modern version of the classic british double rifle for sure..! If I was to build me a new double today it would certainly be a V-C...but I guess I have to do with my old british garbage rifle for now...

Congratulation Morten with your new doublerifle. As you already know a doublerifle present a "WOW" effect a repeter doesn´t present. Even a Sabbati double present a "WOW" effect but its´just in the other end of the spectre.. 6 guns in Norway!. I thought that was in Sweden. I guess if I lived in Norge I would have 1 shotgun, 1 Hartmann & Weiss repeter and 4 doublerifles. Looking foreward to see test results. Tillykke herfra endnu engang DRSS: HQ Scandinavia. Thanks Jens. I am afraid you have to wait a little to see the test results - I am waiting for the right shoulder to heal 110% ! 6 guns in Norway - Sweden is worse with only 5 as far as I know 6 guns is bad as it is but 5.... Morten The more I know, the less I wonder !

Fantastic rifle, love the wood and the case coloring is spectacular. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

The 6 gun "wardrobe" strictly applies to hunting rifles and shotguns. This is what the authorities will allow you to own pretty much without question, if you are a licensed hunter. However, you may own a number of rifles and handguns for sportshooting if you can produce good arguments for a need...and there is really not a roof regarding the number of guns thus far. We have gun collectors who own 100 + guns...fully legal. You may aquire semiauto mil. rifles for practical shooting and for shooting in our officers reserve association. In the US gun ownership is a right by law. In Europe it is a privilege you MAY get.
