I gave Hornady a call regarding the availability of their 470 and 500 nitro offerings. We were initially led to believe that these products might be available late April to early May (From the SCI convention). Now they say it may be late summer due to the growth or demand on all their new offerings. Damn; I was looking forward to getting my hands on some of their 470 nitro ammo.

I think I've got some here if you want to try a few. I believe they are all solids. I'll check this weekend. Call me on Tuesday, and I'll let you know for sure what I've got.

I'm going to buy a bunch as soon as they become available. I'll have my rifle re-regulated if necessary. For $6-700 bucks that's a whole lot cheaper than Federal prices.

what were the speeds suppose to be with thier 570gr loads? Everyday I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive days I've stayed alive.

Just watch those Federal prices drop like a rock! Hornady said they are going to make all the components available for reloaders. I am going to have to get a new reloading press for this one cartridge (470). I hope Hornady offers the dies. I thought the best way to get brass is too just buy 2-3 boxes of loaded ammo from them. It is not much more than just buying brass. It just burns me up at the thought of buying $300.00 / box ammo. EZ

Eezridr, I am with you. My .500 NE brass is getting old and I would like to get some of the new Hornady factory ammo, then I will have lots of new brass to reload. I hope it hits the shelves soon!

I don't believe the full scale run of the .510 bullets has begun .. and I have orders in for them and the .475 bullets. Federal's price on 416 rigby and 458 lott has NOT DROPPED to match hornady's prices .. don't expect them to do so. I have been waiting for .475 and .510 bullets on these since december.. they'll come, sure enough opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round?
