Gents:
Just curious as to the animals you have taken with double rifles, and with what rifles?

I'll begin:
4 water buffalo, 2 wildebeest, 4 hippo, 3 cape buff, feral pig, white tail, javelina, 2 bison, 4 caribou, leopard, lion, croc, nyala, warthog, grizzly, giraffe, eland.

The double rifles used were:
.500 Mortimer black powder express (1890), .450-400 Harrison and Hussey box lock ejector (1920), .450 no2 best quality Lang box lock (1904), .600 Wilkes (1914), 4-bore Hughes (about 1890).

What say you? Mention your rifles to differentiate between vintage UK, European, and modern, please. And, of course, caliber.
Thanks. This should make for some interesting tabulation.

I have however killed hundreds of rocks with those as well as with my VC 577, Pedersoli .58, Army and Navy 360 2 1/4NE, and a monoblocked .357.

Todd Williams wants clarification. Do you mean animals he's shot at with a double rifle, or animals he's actually killed with one....because in his case, there's a HUGE variation in those numbers :-)

It depends where you hit them Smiler Two of the cottontails were eaten and one was eaten by small bugs as it was spread out over about 10 feet. One jack was ripped to shreads, one was decapitated and one was a clean pass through.
