From the perspective of an ordinary Russian - Texas - is synonymous with the US, its part of the Prairie. That is this: there is the capital - New York, with blacks, surrounded by prairies and the Wild West, where cowboys galloping - this is Texas. And There are Hollywood and Alaska, but it already details. Educated people are more aware of the existence of Kansas because from there Elley house flew, but Arkansas - this is something outof mind, so tell jokes about Arkansas - counterproductive.

At a business owned deer lease (somewhere near Uvalde, Texas) they told of entertaining Russian clients whom they had believing were in danger of being arrowed by Red Indians, et by mountain lions, you name it. Not fair but very funny! Wonder how we'd fare in Siberia, with the tigers and all...
