I remember the drills for crawling under the desk + covering your head (like that will help in a nuclear attack). Also our gas masks + box of provisions by the door in preperation to head to the basement.I'm biased obviously but after my upbring I do NOT trust the Soviets. Never mistake motion for action.

Nowadays they call themselves Russians, but nothing has changed. Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. John E Pfeiffer, The Emergence of Man Those who can't skin, can hold a leg. Abraham Lincoln Only one war at a time. Abe Again.

I grew up in a target city so they did not even bother with any of that stuff in school. I guess they figured at best we may be around to see a brilliant flash. Don't limit your challenges . . . Challenge your limits

I remember a cartoon in Argosy or some other "mens mag" back in the late 50's early 60's where this naked couple in a hotel room is looking out the window to see a mushroom cloud + the guy says "I think we have enough time to order another pitcher of martinis." Never mistake motion for action.
