I used to have a 33 1/3 album called "For Segragationalists Only" from the early 60's that was given to me by my uncle. It had just about all you can imagine.Ranging from the Cajun Ku Klux Klan to other light hearted ditties on Martin Luther Coon + just for fun lynchings;etc.I gave it to a friend of mine who gave it to the prof. in the socialogy dept. + he used it as a term project. Guys, I can appreciate the humor in these and willingly admit I've told some of them many times in the past, but at some point, and this thread is way past that point, there are things that just shouldn't be said. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. Well, of course, that learned observation is fine for those who are in a position of power high enough to ignore or process them appropriately, but many of the objects of these "jokes" are not. Let me give you one example. Let's just say that you had a young son who was not the brightest boy in his class and every day when you came home and was told about some other poor example of his learning ability, you told him he was the stupidest boy you'd ever seen and could not be your son. Now, while certainly no physical "sticks and stones" harm was done, I would posit that the long term effects would be extremely negative, therefore, as in most things, it depends on whose ox is gored as to the results of such "jokes". Like I've told my kids all their lives, you don't lift yourself up by dragging others down. And, nobody wants somebody to ride in on their high horse trying to all self righteous, in of all places, the humor section. Ya know, I knew I wasn't going to win any plaudits for my good thoughts when I posted the first post in here. I am somewhat surprised at the tenacity with which some hang onto their old ways but shouldn't be. Remember, just because a position is not popular doesn't make it wrong. Shame is a popular commodity in here for some and you can take that to the PF or shove it up your ass, makes no difference to me. | |||
