It is a newly configured bottom metal. they have taken the "blocky" apearance out and smoothed it to the trigger guard. The old clips fit in the new rifles (though the reps were told they would, we tried it and they fit and feed perfectly), but the new clips will not fit the old rifles as the "block" of metal in front of the trigger will not allow you to fully insert the mag.

Come on guys, Stonecreek was simply stating some facts about the CZ. Not trashing it; but facts is facts. Most all firearms have safeties that go off with the hunk of metal moving forward. I've used both and would prefer, for safety sake, to keep it that way if I was hunting dangerous game. Especially since I use a variety of firearms at different times. I've rode lot's of motorcycles with shifters on either side as well, and in a panic situation, would sure as hell not want one that wasn't on the left like my Harley is now! The guy asked and Stonecreek responded intellegently with his opinions, and valid ones about a CZ. Don't mean everyone has hold the same opinion; but it does add to facts, so Mr. JB117, who asked the question, so HE could better understand, can make his own mind as to whether it's for him or not. I've owned and fired many hundreds of rifles through the years; and though I could effectively use them all, AND I like the CZs, I feel the same way as Stonecreek. I have enough lawyer friends, and know the lawsuit possibility is definetly there. Getting on a guy that has enough experience to have an honest opinion is childish, and reflects a lack of maturity. Now come on guys, all in unison. Let's all tell Stonecreek your sorry, and that you knew it wasn't meant to be a pissin' match; and promise to act a little more grown up next go round. . . coffee

Well... yes and no.

When someone says

and

they are quite actually “trashing†it, not simply pointing out “facts.â€

If the thread had been Savage VS. Remington and I stated

and

I would get at least one person, possibly two or three “jumping in my sh**.â€

I have done that and it did happen.

Wednesday I took my “dangerous, flawed and confusing†CZ527 .223 to the range and one of the guys who used to shoot competitive high power shot it. He had never even looked at one up close, let alone shot a CZ before. He never said a word about any

shortcomings, which would be easily solved if CZ’s designers would pull their heads out of their @$$€S.
What he did say was, “Man, this thing shoots.â€
Now he is thinking he wants to buy a CZ .223 and start shooting high power again.

The thick bolt handle has never been a problem for me, two or three different brands of scopes have been mounted on it, Swift Premium 6X18X44 mildot on it now, absolutely no problems. Matter of fact, if the objective was any larger, I would need taller rings.

If I was to mount a European type scope or a Burris clone, there might be problems because of the overly thick and lengthy ocular bell. Design flaw? Not really. I have had many guns that different scopes would not fit properly due to variances in scope, scope mount, and/or gun design. Find something that fits.

With the svelte profile of the stock, it would be unlikely if the magazine was flush with the stock, that you could get more than 4 rounds in it, double stack or not. You might get 5, but I seriously doubt you could get 6 or 7.

Plus the added weight of the widened receiver and fatter stock, would negate any gains in capacity and take away from the overall feel of the gun.

Now, to answer the original question of the thread, buy whichever one you can get the best deal on, or whichever feels best in your hands. If you can get a chance to shoot a CZ, do it.
Either way you won't be sorry.
