I would think cleaning the barrel would be a chore, how small of a patch do you need?

Patch? I'm thinking you'd just run a thread down the bore.

So, the usual questions:

Is the ten caliber suitable for animals as big as rats or should one limit it to mice?

If rats are on the agenda, is there a company that chambers these in a CRF, rats being considered dangerous game and all?

Being new to the .10 caliber, perhaps my thinking is way off. Instead of discussing gargantuans like mice and rats, should I be talking about ants and cockroaches?

Who makes the best tweezers to load the bullets into the case mouth? Redding markets their Competition Tweezer set, but is this really needed for anything but benchrest rifles? Lee makes a neat tweezer set but the quality is not all that good.

What is the wind drift for a 10mph crosswind at 10 yards, measured in feet?

If one uses a stick powder like IMR-4831, what happens when you shave the deterrent coating off of each powder kernel shoving it lengthwise into the case? Wouldnt that increase the burn rate considerably, forcing one to use IMR-4895 data?

What is the starting load one kernel of powder or two?

Actually, wouldnt two kernels constitute the entire load? I mean, the first kernel of powder drives the second kernel out the barrel so the second kernel of powder becomes the projectile.

While regular rifles sit for months in shop corners while .10 caliber rifles are built, do some gunsmiths really have too much time on their hands?

Inquiring minds want to know

Jim, you also know there will some who will try these on whitetail too, and exclaim bullet placement is everything!
I can hear it now, "If you actually need a .270 to hunt deer, you should take up another sport"

the bullets sure do have a nice sectional density, so they should work on black bear, penetration wise.

I bet you're right, a monolithic on a bear might pass through both shoulders.

I'd have to see what would happen next though!

You know, it might be better to go to the "gauge" system of measurement for these, as hypodermic needles are rated. This might be about a 16 gauge.

Wait 'till you get a load (no pun intended) of this...

Parent cases are the .22 Long Rifle and .22 WMR, respectively!

.14 Eichelberger WMR - http://ammoguide.com/?catid=321

Pretty soon it will be air-gun hybrids!
