Whose bullets do you like for p-dogs, groundhogs, and/or crows? Who, if anyone, makes a tapered expander for .17 caliber dies? Whose funnel do you like for use with .17 cases? TIA, ------------------

GeorgeS, I believe Redding makes a tapered expander that will work on the .17 through 6mm. Check with Sinclair International. The Saunders powder funnel works very well on .17's. You can get them from Todd Kindler at the Woodchuck Den. At .17 Mach IV velocities the 20 grain V Max or the 19 grain Calhoon would be fine. I came so close to getting my Cooper in .17 Mach IV. I started loading the .17 Remington and .17/223 thirty years ago and wish that the components available now were available then. Let us hear of your experiences with your new Cooper. Good shooting,

I have used the RCBS funnel with no problems. Also have shot nothing but the hornady bullets in mine and am very pleased with them. My shooting is mostly rockchucks within about 250 yards. No exit wounds and accuracy is very good.

George, You might want to ask my good friend and hunting partner, Todd Kindler, about these. He is our walking encyclopedia for the small calibers - or mosquito whackers, as Walter calls them. ------------------ www.accuratereloading.com
