does anyone have a pet load with the 60's. COAL with powder charge and I will start a little lower. My rifle is rem 700 action with 22 inch barrel. It has the proper twist for heavier bullets just never have loaded any 223 before

well try between 24 to 25 grains of IMR 4895, Varget or IMR 4064 anyway...

if you want max velocity, try 25 to 26 grains of RL 15 depending on how much your case will hold ( case wall thickness varies on 223 cases depending on manufacturer)...

if you want temp insensitivity, instead of RL 15, try Alliants new AR Comp... its RL 15 with a coating... burn rate is just a hair slower, but nothing to worry about in a 223 case.. you can use RL 15 data, or RL 12 if you just want to play safe...

accuracy is excellent with all the above..

What is the twist in your 700? My old .222 with 1:14 had trouble with 60 gr. bullets.

I tried several powders, primers, and seating depths and could only get to the 1.2" mark and that was with Tac and fedral match primers. I switched to the 62gr TSX and have found several combinations that get me in the .65" range. I hope you have better luck.

I load mine the same as I load 55g pills. I use H335, but cannot remember the charge right now. Did the same w/ my Swift and 222. They are deadly and look like their big brothers when recovered.

25 gr. of H335 behind the 60 gr. NP has performed well for me on both hogs and WT deer in my 1:8 and 1:9 twist barrels.
