I have Browning long range hunter in 6.5 PRC. In the load development stages. Powder supplies being what it is I haven't a whole lot of choices. I'm using 140gr Berger vld and 130gr Sierra tgk. I have vv565, magpro, and IMR 7977. Anyone have some data they wouldn't mind sharing?

Below the picture there are drop down menus and you can find 6.5 PRC but not the bullets listed. You could use them as a reference and load closer to the starting charge weight and go up from there.

Of the 3 powders you have listed, the IMR 7977 is the only one with published loads that I am aware of. The link provided by Palladin8 will get you there.

The new Hornady 11th edition book shows the 140 grain Hornady GMX bullet load with 53.7 grains VIHT N-560 at 2900 fps. I have not shot that bullet and load. My loads use RL-25 and RL-26 and Magpro for that bullet. Both do 3000 plus fps and are quite accurate. I have having much fun with the PRC round and learning more ever shooting session. good Shooting.

Just to show my experience with bullets the same weight. 140 grain Nosler Partition with 57 grains RL-26 chronied at 3165 fps and 3157 fps on the same day. 143 grain Hornady ELD-X same load 3105 fps, another day 3051 fps. 120 grain Barnes TSX 67.5 grains Magpro 3319 fps. 130 grain Barnes TSX 63 grains Magpro 3120 fps. All loads with Fed-210M primer and accuracy between 1/2 and 1 inch. This is my experience for what is worth to 6.5 PRC shooters. Good Shooting.

You might find interesting reading here, but always with caution. Interesting cartridge but after experimenting decided that my 7mm WSM did all that and a lot more.

I have several rifles that will out perform the 6.5 PRC for larger game. The .270 WSM, 7MM STW, .300 Win mag, just to mention those smaller than the big stuff. All I am saying is the 6.5’s with that long bullet is excellent for Deer sized game. Not to mention that it is real fun to play with. My pastle of grandsons and great grandsons and their spouses will each have a fine shooting iron and all the stuff to load them with. Good Shooting.
