I got to thinking..
Mind if I print off your photo's of dead stuff and show them to my anti-hunting friends?
I am thinking that they will change their minds about hunting after they see them.. Wink

My PH was a stickler about photos.....they had to show respect to the animal being hunted in his esteemed opinion. He posed every one of them before photos were allowed!~

I think the ultimate way to show your respect to these:

Is to seal the deal like this:

Bacon, green chile, cheddar, venison burgers:

Or maybe venison liver and onions with roasted garlic mashers and steamed asparagus?......

I love to do all my own processing from the field to the table!

Hey R and Vapo, GREAT Flicks!!!

You might want to go back and "caption" each flick as to the species, because people like jerriee, the rookiee and bobbiee won't have a clue as to what they are. Big Grin

Great Pictures and posts RC, most worthwile. Thank you. I have no position on the head shot thing. Although I have to tell you, I shot a coati mundi in Eastern Arizona, with a 220 Swift. As it worked out, the shot about took his head off, as he was running away, at about 150 yds, we took pictures, and I see nothing wrong with that, in fact the taxidermist had to remove the head before he could tan the hide, it was so blown up.

Now as to Hot Core, you pal are full of it. Where are your pictures, especially of elk?

Gidday rcamuglia,

I like your style and photography, also your cooking skill are much like mine. Gotta love the barbie and liver and onions with a nice red takes some beating.

One of the problems of being a human is not being able to please everyone and the gory photos don't get shown to antis because they don't like them and turn off or look away when they see them. Otherwise they are put off their farm raised steak.

I don't think they care enough about us to worry too much about our photos. Well thats my thoughts anyway.

Happy Hunting

Had RC on ignore till a friend told me I HAD to see this one.

Thanks for the tutorial, RC. Until your timely post, none of us "mental midgets" and "slob hunters" (as you frequently call us) knew any better. We’ll do our best to follow in your uncanny wisdom.

In all seriousness, if you want to preach and make "tutorials," perhaps you yourself should first learn how to eliminate the blood from the scene and arrange the scene a bit more pleasingly (with "respect" to the animal, as you say).

No, every game photo doesn't have to be perfect, but if you are going to preach, be prepared to hear back from the choir.

Now, back to the ignore feature. Big Grin

Excellent pictures from all posting.

The major reason why I do not watch the various hunting shows that are on television today, is that I feel that there is a little too much celebrating and high fiving going on after the shot.

I can go along with hand shakes and pats on the backs and congratulatory drinks at camp.

But on too many of the shows it is almost like it is a Pro Football player dancing in the end zone.

Some may like that type of behavior, I just don't happen to.

Even the rocks don't last forever.

Really, the only thing that I think is in bad taste is the poster saying 930 yards. That's really in poor taste IMO. All it is is bragging to no point.

The pics are all tasteful, and look nice.

I do take some pics of the wounds on game for purpose of study myself, but god forbid you post something like that.

Sorry you didn't like it. It seems folks either do or don't.

It was a shot I'll probably never even have the chance to attempt again in my life, so I wanted to make sure it was on film. That's so when I get really old, I'll have it as a note to remind me not really to brag about, even though it's brag-worthy.

I'm pretty proud of that shot and so is my buddy who was at my side and got to witness it. It was awesome.

I agree.

But you have to realize it's just for TV. I've actually done a show just recently in fact where it was encouraged to show that you're having a great time with the product, place and outing.

Those shots are called "Re-creates". When they are being filmed, the guys are just pretending for the camera to shoot in the air or direction so that the camera man can get good footage for editing-in later.

It feels stupid when you are doing it.

I think this may be going a bit far here guys? The tasteless pictures surely had to go, the gun to the pig head was rude and disturbing and the dressed up baboons was defiantly disrespectful. But for Pete's sake lets not chastise someone for holding up a yard marker to his game. I thought it was very impressive and for such a small target he has my congrats and well done. In addition guys are guys a little high 5'en is in order or at least acceptable for putting down game you/he may have worked your butt off to get. Perhaps a moon walk or break dancing might be going a bit overboard but let's not start raining on anyone's parade.. Just keep it tasteful and if you want to do the bird toe boogie after downing your game, let'r rip, you deserve it!

Our club match is Sunday

Surely it won't get me into any trouble totally AGREEING with that portion of bobbiee's post. Big Grin

Only real problem I have with bobbiee's flicks is I've seen enough of his to know for sure he DID NOT take the ones in this thread. Fortunately, I won't have to endure any of his normal rude and foolish comments since he is unable to cope with ANYONE who disagrees with his ignorance and places us on Ignore. tu2

I do. Wes Thompson, Ojai Valley, Acorn, L.A. and S.D. P&R. These are all pretty local with the exception of SD. There are also some GI events too. I will be competing tomorrow in the 600 F and relay at Ojai. Were do you guys go?

Thanks to the 3 members who contacted me, I was made aware that Hot Core was still taking cheap shots and spewing outright LIES, like the one below:

quote:
Only real problem I have with bobbiee's flicks is I've seen enough of his to know for sure he DID NOT take the ones in this thread.

--

Hot Core-

Grow up, stop the lying and get a life. Even when someone puts you on ignore, you -- in your typical cowardly fashion -- spew your venom and outright lies.

How pathetic...but how typical for your ASSinine and immature behavior.

By the way, I CHALLENGE you to substantiate your LIE by proving someone else took those photos. Go ahead...give it your best shot...

If you can't -- and we all know you can't -- you are making it publicly known what a pathetic liar you really are, though we already knew that following your completely unsubstantiated claim of having killed "many thousands" of deer. Roll Eyes

Your posts are great; you have a lot of knowledge, and have a knack for being concise and funny as hell!

WhatThe,

I shoot our local precision rifle match here at Zia gun club and travel every month to Whittington Center to shoot the Sporting Rifle Match.

Both are really fun.

can you tell a little story on the funky horned gemsbok? I like that one.
Keep the long shot card photo. Some day there may not be 900 yds of open space to shoot in.
