| Frankford Arsenal closed in 1977. It made a limited number of National Match 7.62 ammunition, but I never heard of FA .243, let alone Match .243. What does the headstamp look like? |

| If it is marked 7.62 Match on the headstamp, but actually is about .243 inside neck diameter, it is brass that someone has neck downed and reformed to .243. When I was much younger and in the military, I had access to a lot of .308/7.62 brass that I reformed into .243 and 7-08Rem to lower my costs of shooting.

| I have some LC Match brass that I tortured into 6.5X50 Japanese Arisaka "Match" brass. |

Back when I started shooting in the 1950's, NM .30-'06 brass was in plentiful supply and we college students used it for everything. I still have an RCBS forming die set .30-'06 to .250 Savage which I used to make cases for my .22-.250. |
