I would like to see it happen. I believe the available 6.5mm bullets are superior to the .257 and .277 bullets in BC and SD. I think it would be superior to the 25/06 and the .270 for just about any application. MM

True, almost. Although they may use the same headspace gauge, which measures to a certain datum point on the shoulder, the 270 has a longer neck, creating a longer overall case.
hi, even more complicated: the RWS-round is a 6,5x65 (also a rimmed version available), brass can NOT be reformed from '06 cases (too short, less diameter above extractor groove). then there is the 6,5x64 Brenneke (could be reformed from .280 Rem brass, '06 too short) and the 6,5x64, a 40� blown-out cartrige with a very long neck (approx. .350), made from .270 brass. these are all CIP-certified cartriges, although afaik only the RWS is currently in production.
