Shaner,
Don't know what part of the country you are in, but a dealer up the road from me has an unfired, new in the box Remington 700 classic in .17 Remington on his shelf. If I am not mistaken, he has 499.00 on the pricetag. If you are interested, I will get you their phone number.

Shaner,

If you are interested and a reloader, you could probably have your model 77 hornet rebarreled to either a 17 K Hornet or a 17 Ackley Hornet. There are also many competent gunsmiths who haunt the gunsmithing forum who could answer any questions you might have regarding such a conversion.
