Ken: I'm somewhat sure he does mean the 527. Mine in .223 Remington after some tinkering is a sure-nuff tackdriver and so is my CZ 550 American in 7x57mm. ![]()

7x57, I didn't mean to sound like a wise guy, thought I might have missed a past production. I also shoot a couple CZ's. Have put about 200 rds through my 452 17hmr american and loved every minute of it. I'm also in the process of breaking in a 527 varmint with walnut stock and heavy 26" barrel. After only 25 rds I am very impressed with its accuracy and love that set trigger. Quite sure it will shoot well under MOA with some decent handloads. I'm thinking this rifle may make a good combination gun with its small action and light stock for walking and it's long heavy barrel for the bench. When it gets a little warmer up here I'll let you folks know how it turns out. KEN

Ken, you didn't sound like a wise guy at all. I was about to post just about the same thing myself. I hope your CZ turns out to be a good shooter as well. Word of warning, when taking the barreled action out of the stock, be careful of the magazine spring. I broke trying to get the action back into the stock and thought I just hit a small area of resistance. Anyway, best of luck ... Tom Purdom

Ken, Yes I meant 527. Some idiot put the number "4" right next to the "5" on my keyboard.

Steve, We have had a number of these rifles here, and all of them will shoot under 3/4 at 100 yards with teh right load. One such rifle was given to Walter, as it had a barrel that got rust in it and pitted. He asked me to replace his barrel, which I did. While doing that, I cut the barrel so it butts against the receiver - like in the Remington 700, rather than teh original barrel. The first 3 shots, using 26.0 grains of Alliant Reloader 7 and Bill Brawand's 52 grain bench rest bullet, went into this nice little hole. ![]() Walter said he did not wish to see any more load development, and that we should stop right there.
