My son and daughter-in-law are deciding on a Winchester M70 Featherweight Compact in 243 Win. However, as I've done web searches and checked out places like Gunbroker this model and calibre is only showing up as "out of stock" or "special order". What gives? It seems like a calibre and rifle combo that fills a niche and should be readily available. +-+-+-+-+-+-+ "A well-rounded hunting battery might include: 500 AccRel Nyati, 416 Rigby or 416 Ruger, 375Ruger or 338WM, 308 or 270, 243, 223" -- Conserving creation, hunting the harvest.

I ordered four of the new M-70 rifles several months ago in featherweight...(one a compact) in .308 and 7-08 and one of them took a lot longer to get as sales of these arms are quite brisk it seems.....it wouldn't surprise me at all if the .243 is going to take longer.......I'd assume it's worth the wait however! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Lipseys lists them http://www.lipseys.com/itemdet...20Action&finish=Blue You would have to have your dealer call to find out if they are really in stock. SSR
