Yes! however I prefer the Sako A and L series. The 691, 591 and 491 all have removable recoil lugs that I don't care for, but it's a great action to build a custom gun.

DOCTOR LUE I just horse traded for a virgin left handed stainless sako M591. What is it worth it is mint.

Dog Hunter, are you certain that it's stainless or is it unfinished (white)? If Sako made the m591 in stainless I have forgotton - Sako is known for distributing uncataloged items. Nonetheless, a left hand m591 action is worth about $450 - $550; however, I have seen them go as low as $250 and as much as $600 - it depends more on what one is willing to pay. I have found that it's usually cheaper to buy the entire rifle unless you get a good deal on just the action.

Doctor LUE Thanks for the info As i understand it this action was purchased new in 1975 as just the action, yes it is stainless.The Dog Hunter 2

Dog Hunter, the m591 action was not made until after 1992. In 1975, Sako's medium length action was the L579, a very desirable action.
