I grew up in the Freestate/Karoo area in SA. People I know used their 243's for springbuck, mtn reebuck, impala and blesbuck. They mostly use 95 or 100 gr bullets. Most of them say that if a animal run of after a shot it is their fault and not the rifles/cartridge. I even know some people who use their 243 for bigger game.

A few people use 270Win's, but complain about the amount of "meat damage" the cartridge create.

I read the topic in 24hrCampfire, most guys there seemed pleased with their rifles. I will personally never trade mine for another rifle/cartridge.
