Scale a 50 BMG to a 338 BMG using Ruger brass.
Being off only a few thou here and there you can have a scale version of the 50 bmg using the Ruger brass and the high bc 338 bullets.

Just multiply the 50 BMG dimensions by .66 and you can have a less punishing hunting/target gun.

Would be an interesting 1000 yard gun.

Fun concept I thought.

Yep. For the 338 would there be a funky bolt face size? I'm assuming it wouldn't use propriety primers like the 50 BMG. Wink

Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

It would be the 532 boltface and the 375 Ruger brass with normal primers.

50 BMG .80" actual casehead x.66 = .528" Ruger casehead actual is .529"

50 BMG case length 3.91" x .66 = 2.58 Ruger max length is 2.58"

.510" bullet x .66 = .336"

So...... since you have the most basic dimensions exactly the same just reduce the others in the same ratio.
