Is there a .25 cal that will fit in an AR15 with readily available reamers and dies?

With the .25 TCU a guy just needs a new barrel. With a .25 WSSM in the AR-15, wouldn't he run into poblems with the mag and feeding, and need a new bolt & carrier (bigger bolt face needed)?

(Maybe someone is making magazines which would work with that, though...anyone know for sure?)

And the .25 TCU, BTW, looks to me a bit more like a .25/.223-Improved after being once-fired. Anyway, it's a very good cartridge. Even the 6 m/m TCU makes a neat round for the little desert Javelina...drops them like a falling rock.

Ah so there IS a .25 TCU I knew about the 7mm which would have been my fallback if there weren't a suitable .25 cal. Thank you gentlemen for your help.

I wonder if Wooter's 25 Copperhead (25-222) wouldn't allow for a COAL that would fit the magazine better than that 25-223?

I have played with an upper conversion in 25 wssm it used a regular mag as a single stack and looked realy cool neat idea.

I've had an AR- in 25 wssm for this will make 3 years, awesome deer rifle, I run 115 noslers at 3000 fps, 110 accubonds at 3070 fps, all with sub-moa accuracy.
The 25 wssm bolt and carrier are massive compared to a standard 5.56, also a different barrel extension, the only other mod is the ejection port must be opened up.
only mod to the mag required is the follower needs milled flat.

The 25 TCU and the 25/223 are different rounds. The TCU rounds are improved with 40 degree shoulders. The 25/223 is simply a necked up 223 to accept the 25 cal. bullets. I dont know if feeding my be a problem with the improved case in an AR rifle.

I did a 25/223 in an old 600 Rem and liked it so much I did an AR=15 too! It shoots like a house afire and feeds wonderfully. I have taken a few of the smallish Blacktails and lots of coyotes. Try it! You`ll like it. Dies are easily available from CH 4D Dies.

Last I checked, 6.5mm=.25(6).

I've got two ARs in 6.5 Grendel and am quite happy with them. Dies and brass are easy to come by also.

I hope the reamer question is in regards to reaming a new .25 cal barrel, not rechambering a .223 to squeeze .25 cal bullets down the pipe.

Seems like everyone forgot that the 6.8 SPC is made on a shortened 30 Remington Case...

Well Remington use to also make a good old 25 Remington on the same case....

There is 3/4's of your homework done for you...

What kind of ballistics do you get out of the AR15?
