I just finished building a .416x2", after becoming enthused by Tony Winters writeup. Like Bohica, I chose a Rem M660 action for the project. Montana #5 taper barrel cut to 22". Weight is about 8-1/2lb so it's fairly comfortable to shoot. I'm disappointed that the 14" twist will not stabilize 300gr Barnes TSX's, accuracy is very poor. Best accuracy so far is with 400gr. Hornady's. Trying some 350gr. Speers next, will keep you posted. | |||
