Lee Martin.32 Martin Meteor
I roughed out a set of reamers today for a new wildcat I'm building:
The parent case is 357 Maximum and it'll be built on a stainless Blackhawk (long cylinder, minimum barrel to frame protrusion). The second cylinder will be in 327 Federal.
The reamers are in the heat treating furnace right now, but if I get them ground tomorrow, I'll knock out a set of dies and form some cases.
We'll have to see how much more velocity I get over the 32-20 Winchester. Almost 0.20" more case length, minimal body taper, 0.025" greater base diameter, and pressure around 45,000 psi should yield good results. I'll keep you posted.

Interesting. By all means keep us informed on how it works. Do you anticipate that the sharp shoulder will give problems with setback or have you already figured that into your design?
And be warned - I'm going to ask you for a case for my collection.

Lee MartinActually, the sharp shoulder reduces the chance of setback....the closer the case is to being straight, the better (that's why improved 22 Jets worked better than the standard tapered version). I'll definitely keep you posted.

TSJIs this an actual 8MM/.323, or a .312? What bullets do you plan to use?
