Look up the 6.5 x 57...that's basically what you have. Depending on the shoulder angle and shoulder OD...maybe a 6.5 x 57 Ackley Imp... With a semi-rim. You sure like to com up with the weird sh** then disappear. Wha'cha'got out there on Edisto Island???

Forgot to add in, Hornady 8th ed has the 6.5x57...you can use 257 Roberts, 6.5 x55 Swede, 6.5 Epps or 7x57 starting data and work up...all those cases have about the same case volume as the 444 Marlin case. The 6.5 JDJ uses a 225 Win case...NOT the 444 Marlin case unless they added/changed something, I haven't checked in a while. Couldn't find a 6.5x444 in my Ackley books, but found the 6.5x303 Epps. (almost the same thing)

That much better...check out the 6.5x57 Ackley Imp...rimless version of yours I'll bet. I checked all my data and couldn't come up with a 6.5 on the 444 Marlin case, but that doesn't mean someone didn't do one. There's just a whole bunch of 6.5's out there. I sure the heck wouldn't do the work required to reform the 444 down to 6.5...not now, maybe in the distant past...I've done enough wild and wooly wildcats to know better.
