.366torqueA new ''wildcat'' idea?
How about a 475 Wildey shortened, from 1.198 to .900? I just had this epiphany, no numbers crunched, yet.
For me, I'm thinking, 6" barrel with compensator at around 44,000 or so PSI. It should be a heavy hitting 1911.
Cheers
Bruce

boom stickI posted about this idea a long time ago. Use 284 Win brass and same rim size as 45ACP. Half way between the 45ACP and 50GI with a barrel swap and an opened up double stack (not sure about how hard that is). I think bullet technology and velocity makes a big diference. A 10mm should be just as effective.

.366torqueYou may have inspired! Lehigh Defense, was playing with a prototype. They built one on an XD platform.
So my project has a name. 475 Lehigh.

.366torqueOriginal loadings seem fairly anemic. A 200 grain 475 @ 1200 is yawn material to me.
However, a man could throw on a comp, some springs, judicious loads and voila! A potent package.
Right now I'm working on a 38-45ACP.
My goal is to duplicate the 38 Casull.
I bought some dies a barrel and soon a reamer.
