Anyone have any loads for a 6.5 x 300 Weatherby Mag. I'm interested in anything, any bullet. I'll check the reasonableness of the load, reduce it and work-up. Right now I have nothing, and before I start from scratch, any load data will be very helpful. Thanks!

Ninja,

I have a 6.5/300 with a 30" bbl and a 1-8 twist.. Using 139 gr Normas with 85-87gr of H870 and use the same 85-87gr of wc872... For the 142gr MK's would use the same 85-87gr loads as well.... averaging around 3400fps

I have really thought about a 6.5/300wtby for quite sometime. I wondered if anybody has used the 155grmk? At the 3400fps would a 1:9 twist be effective in stablizing those long 142mk's? Just thinking what is the opinons?

Couldn't you start with .264 Winchester Magnum data and work up? After all, the .264 is the .300 Win. Mag necked down, and the .300 Win. Mag has less capacity than the .300 Weatherby Mag so it should be safe.

Flick the 155 are 1 moa flatter than the 142 You can try any twist but I don't think you would be happy with the 1 in 9 just my 2 cents on this.Have a happy 4th >>><<< Coyote Slayer

If I where to use the 155grn Sierras, I would for sure want a 1in8, but a 1in8.5 would work, they are just to long for anything longer. My 6.5-284 with a 1in8.5 did fine stabalizing everything up to and including 142grn SMKs. The old Swedish Mausers used a 1in7.5 to accomadate the 160grn military spitzers.

Considering the difference in case capasity you should be able to take the max load for the .264 Win. and work up from there. However only use the slower powders such as H1000 or H870, Imr 7828 would work also but watch this one it does strange things.
