filmit338 Rigby (338 norma magnum)?
I just read about a cartridge today for the first time. The 338 norma magnum. Sounds like it was designed to compete with the 338 Lapua but fit in a rem 700 long action. It's based on 416 Rigby brass. Anyone played with this cartridge or know much about it? How hard is it to go that large a bolt face on a rem 700?

Tyler KempI believe it's essentially a 338 Lapua shortened and used with 300 grain bullets. They are seated to around the same length in both cartridges, so the shortened version doesn't lose that much velocity to the Lapua.
I've seen 2700 fps+ with 300 grain bullets from it.
Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

boom stickFrom my understanding it was made because of stupid laws about military carts.
What is the case length?
