I'm looking for velocities that this wild cat achieves with bullets designed for deer size game.

100 gr, X, XLC,XXX?
100 gr. partition
115 gr. Partition
110 gr. Accubond
117 Game King
115 B-Tip

Any issues using the heavier/longer bullets in this case?

The first three loads shot real well out of my 25-284
53.5gr of RL-19 W/100gr Sierra BTSP.
the next load was.
60.0gr of H-1000 W/100gr Sierra BTSP.
the last one was.
55.5gr of RL-25 W/90gr Sierra BTSP Shot the best out of three
I was using W/W 284 cases and CCI 200 primers.
The loads that didn't shoot so well in my rifle were.
55.0gr IMR 4831 W/100gr Sierra BTSP
52.0gr H-4350 W/100gr Sierra BTSP
54.0gr AA-4350 W/90gr Sierra BTSP
The 90grainers are screaming and kill deer. I don't shoot Ballistic tips cause my rifle will not shoot them.

100 grain TSX, over 54 grains RL-22, Win LR Magnum primers, 3300 fps with low SD's.

Very, very accurate in my Douglas featherweight barrel.

I saw no signs of pressure at all, but work up slowly.

Garrett

P.S. Good choice of cartridge.

Now I'm going to have to go get RL22 and give it a try. Have you noticed in variation as far as accuracy from lot to lot on RL22. They say if you find a rifle that shoots Reloader you better look at the lot # on the can you have and go find some more with the same lot #.
I also second the good choice of cartridge. 25-284 is my favorite round

I think you may be thinking of RL19. It has a rep for that. I think RL22 is pretty stable.

I have only used one cannister of RL-22 on this particular cartridge (since finalizing loads).

I should know soon, as I used the last bit of the 1 pound can this weekend.

100 grain Partition over 55 grains of H4831 gives me 3250 fps out of a 23 inch pac=nor barrel. This load seems mild. I could probably go up another grain or so, but at 55 grains my rifle is very accurate.

waveI haven't heard any mention of throating depth to adequately handle the longer heavier bullets. As far as pressure and performance seating depth does play a major role in this short necked cartridge. Eekerroger
