I bought a cheap cleaning rod outfit to have on trips ,just in case, and the little bottle of Gun cleaning fluid has as a ingrediant turpintine.I didnt know turpintine was ok to clean a fouled barrel.Do you think that stuff would gum up the bore?

Turpentine does get sticky/gummy after time. There's probably not enough in there to worry about. I'd use it as a cleaner, but not as protection for longe term storage.

Hatchers Notebook clearly has turpentine as one of the ingredients for a bore cleaner.

Ed's Red also has a variation of it.
