I have been using these excellent bullets for a while now and use Barnes Copper Solvent to clean my bore. I guess it's because I have been using Barnes for so long I didn't think about the fact that I am using copper solvent for a nickle-plated bullet! What is the best bore cleaner for this bullet?? Thanks!!

Why not E-mail the bullet maker? Or the maker of your fav bore cleaner? They would have much better info............. If the enemy is in range, so are you. - Infantry manual

I just heard back from federal who told me that any good copper solvent will also remove nickle. Thanks A

I work in an Electroplating shop and wish I could use the solution we use for Copper strip without risking damage to my bore. It is a combination of Nitric, Sulfuric, and Hydrochloric. The moment that stuff touches copper you can see shiny steel underneath! Maybe I can get a sample and an old barrel and a borescope............TBC We Band of Bubbas N.R.A Life Member TDR Cummins Power All The Way Certified member of the Whompers Club

Isn't there a warning on HOPPES No 9 stating not to soak nickle plated guns, because it strips the nickle??? We Band of Bubbas N.R.A Life Member TDR Cummins Power All The Way Certified member of the Whompers Club
