Opinions wanted for solvent for Trophy Bonded Tipped Bullet...Nickle Coated
I have been using these excellent bullets for a while now and use Barnes Copper Solvent to clean my bore. I guess it's because I have been using Barnes for so long I didn't think about the fact that I am using copper solvent for a nickle-plated bullet!

What is the best bore cleaner for this bullet??

Thanks!!

Why not E-mail the bullet maker? Or the maker of your fav bore cleaner? They would have much better info.............

I just heard back from federal who told me that any good copper solvent will also remove nickle.

Thanks A

I work in an Electroplating shop and wish I could use the solution we use for Copper strip without risking damage to my bore. It is a combination of Nitric, Sulfuric, and Hydrochloric. The moment that stuff touches copper you can see shiny steel underneath!

Maybe I can get a sample and an old barrel and a borescope............TBC

Isn't there a warning on HOPPES No 9 stating not to soak nickle plated guns, because it strips the nickle???
