LeopardtrackOpinions wanted for solvent for Trophy Bonded Tipped Bullet...Nickle Coated
I have been using these excellent bullets for a while now and use Barnes Copper Solvent to clean my bore. I guess it's because I have been using Barnes for so long I didn't think about the fact that I am using copper solvent for a nickle-plated bullet!
What is the best bore cleaner for this bullet??
Thanks!!

amamnnWhy not E-mail the bullet maker? Or the maker of your fav bore cleaner? They would have much better info.............

LeopardtrackI just heard back from federal who told me that any good copper solvent will also remove nickle.
Thanks A

drewhenrytntI work in an Electroplating shop and wish I could use the solution we use for Copper strip without risking damage to my bore. It is a combination of Nitric, Sulfuric, and Hydrochloric. The moment that stuff touches copper you can see shiny steel underneath!
Maybe I can get a sample and an old barrel and a borescope............TBC

drewhenrytntIsn't there a warning on HOPPES No 9 stating not to soak nickle plated guns, because it strips the nickle???
