My daughter and I have been shoot the AR's quite a bit using up the old supplies of Wolf that I have. While this old stuff goes bang every time (at least in my rifles) it leaves a carbon/crud build up, and I hate scrubbing this crap off.
I have a new Dillon 550B to load .223 and .30/06 in quantity for the AR's and the Garands.

So to get to the question, I mixed up a couple of gallons of Ed's to use on every thing else. Does anyone see a problem just dropping the bolt/carrier in a coffee can of Ed's for a good soak?

I don't mean to sound lazy, I'm motovationaly challenged.

You don't need Ed's Red to clean the carbon out of a bolt/carrier assembly. Should not hurt but Varsol works well and has lower viscosity so it gets into things better.

Ed's Red is good as a lubricant if the conditions are not dusty or gritty.
