These are pictures from our safari with Charles Price of Swartkei Safaris. The Price brothers have a fantastic operation and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. We hunted 3 different properties over 10 days on their family owned 120,000 acres. I was very pleased with the quantity and quality of animals. Being more of a mountain sheep hunter I made it clear to Charles that I like to hike. Although it wasn't sheep hunting we did put a lot of miles and effort in during the 10 day hunt. I hope you enjoy the pics.

We worked hard for this Vaal Rhebuck. We saw quite a few but had trouble getting on them.

DO YOU SEE THE 21 ZEBRAS IN THIS PICTURE???

This one is my favorite.

Great Bushbuck country.

We were thrilled to take this old Bushbuck. He had almost no teeth and you can tell from the picture that he was really scarred up from fighting.

Wow, and congrats on a great hunt! That`s an impressive bag of trophies and it seems you enjoyed the hole experience. Since you`re a mountain hunter, I`m glad you went for the vaalie. We worked quite hard to get one last year, and it really paid of. It turned into one of my most memoirable hunts.. Smiler

Fallow Buck - Out of all the animals we took the PH and trackers were most excited about the Bushbuck. Maybe his daddy was a Kudu?

DPS,

I can imagine how they felt. I think Bushbuck are just great. My PH freind has just moved onto a new ranch and he has some awesome bushbuck on there. He has seen one that he is sure is between 18"-19" (at least he says!!) In fact it is so good that he wants to shoot it himself!! Apparently there are may in the 15"-16" class too.

It's all I can do not to take a week off just to go hunt bushbuck!!

Rgds,

Doug, congrats on a great hunt and your trophies. You should get your Bushbuck scored as he should make Roland Ward's book. Good hunting, David

David - We didn't actually measure or score any of the animals. I have been encouraged to have several of them measured including the Bushbuck. I probably will.

Martinbns - We hunted the Eastern Cape. More specifically we spent time in three diffent camps near Queenstown, Bedford and Grahamstown. Each camp was outstanding with huge areas and loads of animals. The Price's have a great thing going there.

Bill C - The animals just arrived home last week and I will do a full body on the Bushbuck and probably the Nyala and Val as well. I don't have the buff nailed down just yet. I will finalize at the show in Reno. It looks like it will be 2009. I leave for my MP hunt next Saturday. You have a mule deer hunt coming soon up don't you?

Doug

That's a nice bag and quite a variety.

That bushbuck looks like he had been through some tough times. Cool caracal too.

I agree with all comments above re: the bushbuck....but I must say that is as fine a selection of plains game I have ever seen taken in one 10 day hunt. Congrats to the hunter and the PH!
