Hi All

Been thinking how to do a season report. So instead of doing a written report I thought I would let the pictures do the talking.

I started of in March with a lion hunt in the Valley. Unfortunately parks did not make it easy for us PH this year. They gave us 3 lions on fixed quota so we had to pay the trophy fees wether we shot the lions or not so this lion was probably just over 4 but he was the oldest we could find.

My next hunt was in June at Nuanetsi. I would like to thank Brent on continuing to do such a fantastic job in looking after Nuanetsi as it continues produce some great quality animals. The game numbers are increasing all the time which is great to see.

I then did another hunt at the end of June also in Nuanetsi.

The beginning of July I was still in Nuanetsi and I had one of my most hectic hunts.

The 2nd half of July, I was still at Nuanetsi. I managed to get the mini 3 that on on Nuanetsi in one hunt.

I then had a hunt postponed till October so my next hunt was the 2nd half of August. This was to be the hunt that had the most exciting hunt. I am guessing that it will come out on Dark and Dangerous soon so don't miss it. We had a heart stopping leopard charge. There is a picture that I took off the video that I put in here. Not very good quality but you can make things out. The gun on the left is the appie. I am further to the right of the cameraman. It is just amazing at how quickly a leopard comes when he charges.

My next hunt was the beginning of September in Chewore North. It was a great hunt but starting to get quite warm. We shot a nice lion that I felt was about 5 years old.

In October I went back down to Nuanetsi to do my hunt that was postponed from August. It was now very hot but we still got some great animals.

Hopefully I didn't bore you too much. Hope all of you have a great festive season and stay safe. Hopefully I will see lots of you either at The Dallas or Vagas shows.

Boring? Are you kidding? Great trophy pictures from the Zambezi Valley and Nuanetsi, how in the world could that possibly be boring? Thanks for sharing Mark.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Gibbo can still get on and off the plane by himself. He takes a bit of time but he does it.

The wilde with the kudu was 32" wide.

Thanks guys for all the kind comments.

Buzz, I wasn't going to mention that trophy until I know what it is and that should be mid April.

Congrats to you Buzz and the Chalton/McCallum team for your award from the Safari operators association of Zim (SOAZ). Great job you guys have done with Dande especially the East. Well done and keep up the good work.

The one impala is bizarre. I have never seen anything like that.

What is the story behind the charge photo? At least, I think that is what it is.

Congrats on a successful season.

Hi Larry

Yes that pic is of a leopard charge. I don't won't to go into too much detail as it is coming out on Dark &Dangerous soon. What happened is my client wounded it the night before and we pulled out cause I felt it was too dangerous. Next morning we found where he walked up a path and then lay down. Not much blood. We were sweeping each thicket when he burst out at my head tracker. Lots of people say that the leopard is the most underrated big game animal. That's only if it's shot properly. I have faced lions, buff and elephant but none waited or came as quick as that leopard. He covered that 5m between my tracker and him in 0.5 seconds. I had never been charged before by a leopard but I suppose if you hunt them long enough and as many as I do in a year it was a matter of time. First charge in 10 years of hunting or almost 50 leopard.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone.

My trusty .470 Heym double with 500 grn Hornady GMX. It's the weapon I use most and am most familiar with. You don't have any time to think on a charge like that and have to rely on instincts.
