Congrats my friend.

Outstanding!

Now for the pics.

I always worry about hitting game at the Sango airstrip. Too many impala and wildebeest there for my comfort.

Thanks all. The pictures are loading now.

Will, you are right. They are damn lucky it was an impala rather than a bigger animal. We hazed the pilot and told him he had to pay a trophy fee before he left. We all laughed but it was a nervous laugh. This could have been far worse. For me, this is the 3rd airplane problem in 8 charter legs. I will bet Giles doesn't like to see my name.

Several people have been inquiring about Mary Lynn. She had breast cancer a couple of years ago. She discovered some lymph node issues on the same side she had cancer. These were removed on Tuesday. We got the test results this morning. They are negative thank goodness. I appreciate all of the concern for her.

Larry.......Just got back from my daughters pack in wilderness hunt for Elk. She killed a monster on the next to the last day. We saw a hell of a lot of bulls. Packed six horses, fully loaded, 8 miles out. Damn...it was fun.

Anyway.....got the pics you sent via the phone. WONDERFUL.....as usual. That is all I have come to expect from you! I look forward to the ones you are about to post.

But again - CONGRATULATIONS! When I showed all the folks near and around Elk camp your pics on the phone, they were agast. You da' man!

Well done Larry! You had a bang-up safari, literally. And glad to hear Mary Lynn's results were what you wanted them to be!

The cameraman was a professional photographer. I gave him my camera and he took pictures as he saw fit. He did a good job.

I seem to be missing pictures of my room. I will look for them.

Holy cow Larry...this is the closest thing to the old Kenya...Think about it..the big 5, probably even a BLACK rhino you saw, buffalo elephant and lion everywhere, taking multiple elephant & buff. Ok you got me..no hundred pounders running around and no black rhino on license...but let me tell you it is pretty damn close!

Thanks for showing us here sitting at home that this is STILL possible.

We saw multiple black rhino. No entertaining incidents with them like there was in 2011 when I had to grab Collen by the shirt and pull him in the bushes to avoid a black rhino cow & calf.

No massive elephants but we saw a lot of elephants.

We saw more lions that I have seen in my last 10 safaris combined.

I might add an interesting tidbit. I cut the tail off with a knife I bought in the auction to raise money for Owain Lewis.

Sorry some concerns on the home front may have taken away some of your enjoyment.

Glad the test results were favorable.

Out of all the great things in the pictures, I keep going back to the seating arrangement at the dining table. I'm afraid that I've been sitting in Nevin's spot for +/- 60 dinners. Also, Larry, you're in Thierry's chair.

Good to see Chumbe (sp? - "Soom-bay") at the elephant kill. I was there when he was carted off to jail in 2011; wrongly accused of being in cahoots with the rhino poachers. When we saw him in 2012, he was back to old form and clearly moved that we remembered his plight and that we had worried about him.

I believe that I see your favorite scatter gun in there as well. Wink

Like Will, I go to the dining table to remember ther excellent meals & conversation at Sango.
Unlike Will, I have not had the pleasure of sitting at MY spot enough to wear my buttprint into the wood.
Larry, you're sitting in my spot.
