I recently experienced an excellent hunt with PH Heath Jardine in Matabeland South, Zimbabwe. Took a nice buffalo, zebra, impala, and giraffe. On the last day of the hunt, my wife, who came along as an observer, took an excellent impala. The hunt took place in mid-April, so the vegetation was still thick, which meant challenging conditions (but great weather). Heath worked very hard to get us good shot opportunities. Heath also kept my wife involved in all aspects of the hunting, which was important to me. Camp was very comfortable -- great food and attentive staff. Pick up and drop off was at Bulawayo Airport. While there may have been enough time to make the JFK - Bulawayo connection, I decided to play it safe and stay overnight in Johannesburg on both legs of the trip. Afton Guest House is a great place to stay near the airport and perfect for transiting hunters.
Looks like I don't have permission yet to upload photos or create photo albums. Perhaps that is because this is my first posting on this site. Pics are are on huntingreport.com.
