This year saw me fighting. Devastating bush fires that blackened my horizon. An aggressive takeover of my project and finally a brute of a Lion with a stiff broom. I am also getting on in my years and my memories nowadays are more of the people and places than heads and horn. For my woes I have been adequately compensated by the quality of and generosity of the hunters that I have met and known. Thank you AR. All have had specific goals in their hunting and all been met with the exception of Darin who failed to cash in my offer of a two tiered price Lion. Our target Lion and probably the most glorious I have ever come across would only show himself in her absence. Such is the unpredictability of these cats. Big Leopard prove to be less illusive and everybody scored and the results were impressive. As so were trophies of Sable, Roan and Buffalo as the main species.

I hunted new grounds and met some outstanding operators and professionals some who I taught and some who I learned a bit from. Most operators are investing heavily in the game and forgotten grounds such as the Musalangu, Kasonso and Sichofulo are being rejuvenated and actively protected. Our hunting horizons generally seem to be expanding and the private sector is prepared to fight for wild Africa and the game. If only the international politicians could offer more encouragement and support.

The trophy quality and maturity of game animals across Zambia has been outstanding. Most operators are booked a year in advance and business seems to be booming. I again will hunt the Kafue and some new grounds next year and very much look forward to being reunited with friends and a few new comers to Zambia. May all of you experience the best of luck in 2018 and I wish you all a prosperous and New Year. Keep the sun on your back and the wind in your face.

Always a lovely way with the written word Mr. Baldry. Well written words, well fostered ground and well taken care of clients. Simply well done.

Well done on a very successful season and a bunch of exceptional trophies Andrew! You have put in a lot of hard work to achieve it and you deserve every bit of your success.

Good luck on the 2018 season and I look forward to sharing bottles of whiskey over campfires along the rivers of Zambia with you in the coming year!

Cheers and happy new year.

Andrew;

You definitely took some fine trophies!

I loved both our lion hunts, I couldn't go wrong with the pricing in 2017.

But mostly, you made the safaris so much fun and top notch.

A hunter in 2018 is in for a outstanding lion, besides plains game!!

Best regards, Darin

Congratulations on another great year of hunting Andrew. You really guided your clients to some great trophies.

It's been a pleasure to hunt with you twice, and we look forward to no. 3 next year.

I feel lucky to have met a man of honor such as yourself, and I'm thankful to Saeed for giving us this forum, and Jim ( Frostbit ) for recommending you as a PH. Thank you everyone!

With the anti poaching and area development going on there the place should be fantastic in 5+ years?

It is looking good now and I have been sent pictures of some very big Sable. Lots of Sitatunga also and here you can hunt Red Lechwe.
