All and anyone, Does anyone have any information on these two RSA outfits? My wife and I did our own research and came up with two different Eastern Cape outfits. We are planning for next summer or possibly 2012. The first is J.P. Kleinhans and the second is Cape Valley Safaris. Does anyone have any feedback on either of these two outfits? Thanks in advance!!!! "Once you've wrestled, everything else in life is easy." Dan Gable

Bob, if you're bringing your wife, you can't beat Blaukrantz, owned and run by Arthur and Trini Rudman. Very genteel atmosphere, multi-course dinners served when the bell rings. If she tires of watching you shoot, there are local craft villages, a wildlife park, jewelry boutiques ....lots of stuff for a woman to enjoy.

I have met J.P. and talked to him about setting up a hunt Mozambique. Hasn't happened yet so I can't say what it's like to hunt with him, but I found him very personable and think I would enjoy hunting with him. I know you didn't ask for other suggestions, but here's one anyway! I have hunted twice with Russ Lovemore of Safari Trails International and had great trips. Russ is really good if you're interested in hunting any of the more obscure animals with hard to get permits (aardwolf, bat-eared fox, blue duiker, etc). The Eastern Cape is a great place to hunt with many good outfitters, you won't be dissapointed. Good luck!

Bob: Glad to see that you have an interest in hunting in the Eastern Cape. My wife and I have made three trips to SA, all in the Eastern Cape, with two differnet outfiters but the same PH. All three trips were great. I would be glad to share our experiences with you. Edwin H. Griffith, Waterloo, Iowa. 319-233-1861.

E Cape is beautiful and friendly and many adventures for a spouse while you hunt there. I have hunted there twice but only for what I consider indigenous to EC species. Adrain Ford has some great Blue Duiker, may not be very easy!, and Oribi---free range. He also has lots of Cape Bush Buck and I assume he hunts them tho I did not. His place is on the ocean and the views break your concentration Paul Shueman has a wonderful place in the interior with high mtns and roads his loverly wife wont drive. His and his adjoining fathers farm comprise several tens of thousands of hectares with great Vaallie and Klippie,His Dad's place has remanents of Voortrekker "roads" going up the mtns. He also has consession rights that I underatand cover Cape Kudu and all the other stuff that you can hunt by transplanting there. The Barvian Conservancy is a great place to hunt real Cape Kudu and they have some areas on the Great Fish river that has very good Cape Bush Buck. Have fun!

I second Beibs' comment on Blaauwkrantz, my wife and I are going back for our 7th visit with them next June...they are truly one of the best outfits around. We took friends with us on our last hunt at Blaauwkrantz and they (along with 4 other friends) are returning with us next June. They have unbelieble numbers of quality animals on their 84,000 plus acres. Check them out at www.blaauwkrantz.com. Two of the family will be at the DSC convention in January (Eardley and Franscois), the founder will be at Reno and Salt Lake City (Authur). Karl Evans

HiBob If im not mistaken they both are the same place. I am under correction but J.P Kleinhans owns / runs Cape Valley safaris to my knowledge? They are situated just outside P.E in the Hankey area.He used to or still Does some SA lion hunting on his property. I have nothing to report though good or bad. The E.C is a great, safe hunting destination. Hi Bob For the Eastern Cape - I can highly recommend Chris Cawood - son of the late Mike Cawood - and their Hunting Estate - Southern Cross Safaris , I have taken hunters there to great success, including a King from Europe ( who we may not name ) and his party of Royals - they had a fantastic hunt. The lodge is an East Cape old Dutch home. They have a web site and its worth checking out. Graeme Pollock Safaris Botswana Bound Safaris East Africa Bound
