My trophies have arrived from Namibia via: Nyati Wildlife Art P.O.Box 6440 Windhoek, Namibia Tel: +264 61 217111 It has been a little over one year to get a tanned zebra rug, tanned back hides from a wildebeest and gemsbok, and all the skulls, capes and horns (dip and shipped) from various (6 species) planes game animals. I wanted to have the capes tanned in the U.S. and get the shoulder mounts done here in Alaska by a local taxidermist. It was all shipped via: I.F.N. Airfreight Logistics in Windhoek. It all arrived in Anchorage on Delta Air Cargo. It was all relatively trouble free. I am satisfied with the quality of the work and the cost. I did experience some delays that are not the fault of the taxidermist or the shipper. Homeland security held up the shipment in Atlanta due to a typo in the paper work. All in all they did a good job with the prep, packing and paperwork. I would use them again in the future. Greg Rodgers Eagle River , Alaska GLRodgers

How were your capes preserved and are they in good shape after a year? Were they simply salted, or was some additional perserving method used?

Greg, Were you able to clear your trophies or did you need someone to clear for you? We are going to be getting a shipment and last time we weren't able to clear our trophies. Thanks, Mike

The capes were salted and dryed then run through a chemical dip before redrying. I don't know the exact process. I cleared the shippment myself but had to have a registered fur dresser pick up the shipment as an untanned warthog was in the package. Everything looked okay as far as we could tell when we unpacked the stuff. The capes are being tanned now and we shall see how well they held up. GLRodgers
