My good friend and client Mark T finished his Big 5 of Africa last month taking an Elephant bull near Zimbabwe's Lake Kariba. Mark took this bull on the first afternoon of his hunt, stating he saw many bulls but most were too large under his management hunt restrictions. He took a side brain shot at 7 yards in the thick jess to topple this tusker. Right tusk was 44" and the left 42 inches. Rifle was a .450 NE double. Mark reported seeing lots of Ele's, huge Croc's around the lake and Buffalo. Not a lot of PG however which he knew going in there would be slim pickings on PG. He only hunted Elephant. Some of you met him at Dallas the last couple of years. Good hunting, LDK

Great for Mark! He'll have something new to talk about at the DSC this year around the coffee gathering in the morning. I think he's flogged his Lion story to death!!! :-)

I got a text from Mark just before we went "DARK", or out of touch in Australia about his success! As you know I was working with Mark to help get his rifle up and shooting with the 480 BBW#13 Solid in his new Sabatti 450 Nitro! We had some problems with the Hornady size die, that was not sizing the case down proper, once a new die arrived everything fell in place perfectly. Mark was shooting great, rifle shooting great, and the 480 BBW#13 Did it's job as intended. I was very very pleased to hear of this just before going to the bush!

Hi Michael, I trust your hunt went very well as usual. I have an email from D but haven't opened it yet. I had two clients hunting ahead of you and they gave glowing reports to all aspects of Paul's camp and hunting. Both took great trophy buffalo and shot extra with their .500 NE's. I need to give you a heads up on Dallas so expect a call from me today. Cheers, David

David

Sorry I missed your call yesterday.

Paul Truccolo--There is No One Better! Of course, Paul and I are good friends, but if you are not hunting buffalo with Paul in Australia, you are really missing one hell of a good hunt, and a great time. Sam, Mark David, Matthew, and myself shot 6 FINE big trophy bulls, I shot a couple of big redskins, one of which is the largest Paul has ever had taken! Buffalo EVERYWHERE---we were seeing big bulls every day, and it was all I could do to contain myself, all Paul could do too, I wanted to shoot all of them!!!!!! HEH.....

Please people, if you ever considered buffalo in Australia, get up with David and let him sort it out for you. You will never find a hunt for buffalo like Paul can give you.

David, talked to Momma, and I am going to let her speak to you tomorrow about Dallas and explain to her what we have.

Yes, Mark, big congrats! Very proud of you!

Michael

Michael, Just had to more clients return from Paul's. Both shoot .500 Searcy's but were very impressed with Paul's 500B&M you built for him. They said it pole axed scrub bulls. They posted a "glowing report" forthcoming in the Hunting Report. They are coming to Dallas to rebook for next year, meet you and Dan along with all the other fanfair.
