Saeed,
Your photographs are fantastic! You have been able to capture the reason most of us return to Africa year after year. It is not the glamour game alone, it is the subtleties of the African bush which you have so marvelously garnered. Thanks so much for sharing your passion.

HI Saeed,

Always fun and enjoyable reading your reports.

The areas in your thread title should read "KIZIGO" instead of KIGOZI..... Smiler

I clicked on the videos without reading the comments here first. Then I watched the zebra , then the croc to see what that was like.

Then I came to post and saw a few others had something to say about the croc as well. It is worth repeating that the croc shot has it all. Shot placement, accuracy, timing, and power. I heard the safety click before the shot broke but I felt he had to settle more after raising up.

I realize your preference for the buffalo but I can say with some certainty that no crocs want to be around when Saeed is nearby. Smiler

Saeed,

I'm looking at hunting Ugalla in 2025. I've never hunted the Tabora region before, but I see you hunted Kizigo and Ugalla in 2009. I realize 15 years is an eternity in Tanzania as far as game quality, but thought I'd ask. I read your whole report and see you had a pride lion on bait, but are there huntable lion? I've heard the leopard are relatively small, but that doesn't matter much, it's the hunt. Seems like there are plenty of buffalo and that's what matters most. Also, I've been after a roan and East African kudu for years. I understand there are topi as well. Welcome any thoughts.

We were hunting with TGT.

They had some "research" teams checking on lions.

And I suspect they did not want us near any lion that could be shot.

I've heard that about TGT. so not surprised. Concession is under new management. I think there should be good lion there and your photos lend support to that belief. Why not?

Which Ugalla block are you looking at?

If I recall, part was a game reserve and part was a communal area.

I hunted with TGT several times, at no time were we allowed near any shootable lions.

Frankly, you are better off hunting the Selous, with an outfitter who does not favor special clients.

Safe to say I won't be hunting with TGT. I need to find out some more, but this area in Ugalla is intriguing.

If TGT controls it, that's going to be a deal breaker, but I don't think that is the case.

Don't think TGT has any Ugalla blocks any more, I think they just have 2 Maswa blocks and a WMA.

As far as I know, Harpreet has one Ugalla block, and the Africab guys have the other. I have second hand info about the Africab block, not sure about Harpreets.
