I would like to know very much if the Rashid that is mentioned is Rashid Patel and if he has a brother named Yusaf. I understand these two gentlemen control a very large portion of hunting areas in Zambia. H Kittle

This is a bit awkward as I am not directly involved in this situation, and have a certain degree of loyalty to one of the parties. However, as neither party is directly posting, I do feel compelled to update everybody who has been reading this thread with what I know. I have been in recent contact with Peter, and he and Pravin are in communications. Peter is taking this very seriously and has accepted responsibility for the situation stating that indeed some of the organizational problems were a result of issues in 2005 with his former partner and related entities, and says that he has every intention of making reasonable restitution to Pravin. He also admits to being a lax emailer, which of course is not uncommon among PH's. To give you an idea…he said this was his first break since the beginning of the season and his first opportunity to see his new baby girl who was born on June 30th. To answer your question h kittle, Peter's current partner is "Zaeed Patel", who I know nothing about other then per Peter the organizational structure of Kwalata has been improved since they hooked up. I will not break any confidences, but David I can assure you that Peter is not a "back stabber", and Peter and Wes have a rather unique relationship that goes back a ways. Regarding a previous question, I think the reason Pravin delayed in making this public (after all, it is ~2 years after the fact), is that he only recently became aware of the condition of the trophies and that was the final straw, which is 100% understandable. In cases like this the character and possibly the motivation of the client is often called into question...and yes there are impossible to please clients out there. However, I am of the firm opinion that Pravin, like Peter, is a decent and sincere individual and was a good client doing all that was expected of him before and after the hunt. There were some hiccups, just like every hunt I have ever been on, which being a seasoned traveler Pravin would have probably considered part of the African experience for better or worse. But take these plus the ruined trophies and lack of resolution, and he took what action he felt he need to in order to bring it to a head. Who could blame him. On the flip-side, as others in business will attest to, if you are around long enough something like this can and probably will happen. To me, the true character and integrity of the company/individual in question is demonstrated based on how it is handled, once the full gravity of the situation is known and appreciated. We have witnessed others here on the forum that have encountered difficult situations that were resolved, and personally I would (and have) hunt with any of the companies involved, just as I would with Peter again. Hopefully Peter and Pravin will get this sorted out soon, and details will be posted.
