It took me a while to get around to organizing these pics. I figured you all might enjoy a few more of the beast that was shot a few weeks back in Mozambique. Note the full mane, black in color.

Luckily while we were tracking Elephant we stumbled on this two day old Roan kill and were fortunate enough to let the other team know where the Lion was feeding.

I have to wait for the experts here to tell me if I can say it's proper; and others to say it's legal, and more if it's ethical.....

But for now tu2

I'm with you on this one... This is an animal on its prime, and whilst it will make a good mount, is it the right one to take out??
Lets wait for the experts eh?

Beautiful lion!!! I think he's 5, maybe 6, but I would like to hear Bwanamich's estimate.

In his prime, very nice looking cat!

no masters here, at least none that I obey Smiler purely a moment of wondering what it is we wish to be known for and what is the essence of what hunting is all about. Plus, it is not me you have to worry about, but the trolling 'conservationists' that may seize the opportunity. I'm just shooting the breeze and watchin' the world go by Wink

This lion looks like it never had a fight in its life , which means it is not an old veteran , the pink on the nose although not a fool proof gauge can be used , the mouth does not droop at the jowels and the skin is sheen and not dull. I think the cats around 4-5 1/2 but is a first class trophy Lion , well done !!

Better question,
What is that in the Roan pic that looks like some kind of hand?

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

A varying opinion of two years if you look at your minimum and Lane's guess.
