404,

If you paid $2280 you did get ripped and have every right to be mad. I was thinking $1040 plus the contracted PH's fees at cost.

I guess I did miss a lot by retiring early.

I still can not beleive we are talking about the same guy. I can not fathom him acting this way.

by the way I was on the 11 day hunt for $7,000. I hunted an extra day for $350 plus additional animals of Leopard $3300, Eland $1500, Wildebeast $850, second Kudu $800 plus wounded Wildebeast $500. There were also phone calls home, tips for the staff.

Last waste of bandwidth, I did have a great hunt with Boet and even though it was my first I can not imagine it having been any better. This is leaving me completely shell shocked and why I have so vigorisly defended Boet. In the 14 total days I spent with him I did not see anything like what 404 describes.

You really need to know how fortunate you were to get a lep your first trip...without baiting, waiting, baiting...

I did my lep hunt in July and it was tough. Long days, long nights in the blind, tough to sit still.

Like you, I got a female, which in my short post about it, I said I was a little disappointed, but I was a dumass and booked the lep hunt well before SCI, and I had a piece of business (NOT bragging) that needed my full attention, and I took the lep and ended the hunt early.

Still happily paid the 14 days of day rates, and shot up a bunch of other animals, then joined my buddy on a "buddy hunt" in Natal.

You and I both have a reason to go back- to get a big tom to place next to the female in the trophy room.

Male or female, they are beautiful animals.

Take care, your friends lol J & K in Chapel Hill.

What an interesting story. From a PH's point of few,it made interesting reading on how NOT to p... off a client. clap I am glad to see so many guys take, or consider taking their wives on Safari. We even introduced special rates for women hunters, to encourage the fairer sex to join their hubbies! I know you don't want to go on with this .404, let me just say that you should NEVER get tired of this story, and pursue it as far you can. As a PH, I don't want any guys like that make bad our name. Ours is a profession constantly under fire with guys stepping out of line. The only PH is the true PROFESIONAL, and if he was one, he would never have used AFRIKAANS in front of clients.....

Happy hunting buddy
