Just a word about Tony. When I asked him to smile for a trophy picture he said, " I don't smile! I just killed something." And speaking of Gorillas. . . Rusty We Band of Brothers! Guys, those skulls "ARE" going to be boiled before they leave africa. The VET's will NEVER clear them salted like that and USDA will never let them in unless the core tissue has been removed or cooked out. The core tissue has to be removed someway, either soaking the skull till the horn rots off thru maceration and then boil the skull without the horn. The buffalo, It Going To Get boiled, the horn will never slide off the core because of it's extreme curve. I've seen a few shipments get thru with just salted horns and most of the skins packed with them where worthless as the bugs after they got thru eating the core membrane tissue started on the skins. Once the bugs eat themselves out of the core they don't care what they eat, leopard skin, lion skin, hyena, buffalo cape, you name it they will eat it.

The hunt looked amazing, with some nice memorable trophies taken. A great buff and nyala, very envious. I am very interested to find out who made that beautiful ammo belt and knife sheath for you. This is something I would like to have made from my hunt late next year with Andrew from Royal Kafue. Once again, well done.

Hunted with LJ in the forest last August (2012). Not lucky enough to take one on day one! Pulled the trigger on this nasty, ugly old dugga boy at noon on day 7 after following (walking him up in the WOODS, not swamps) this very bull every day, further and further each day before he would go into the real tall grass. Fire is your friend! However, I did have to shoot & follow him up in the tall grass. My 13 year old nephew was with me every step of the way. I've hunted with Mark & Glen 4 times, 3 in Moz. Great concessions, staff and total experience. The swamps are an experience every serious hunter should experience at least once. Now if I can just get Mark to leave the helicopter keys in camp when I'm there so I can take it for a little ride! ______________________ Guns are like parachutes. That is one ugly buff, but I'd be thrilled to have that trophy after such a hunt. Congrats! "I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken."
