Hey guys, got back from my first "Once in a lifetime" trip to Africa...WOW!
We had an incredible time over there! Saw a lot of game, it was a lot different than I expected, having never hunted fenced concessions before, the game was pretty wary for the most part. We did most of our hunt by walking and spot and stalk. A lot of fun!
On the first day we just looked at animals and recovered from the killed 16 hr flight.
On day 2 we start shooting.
Me and a friend, who had also never been to Africa before went on this trip and our PH was Jurgens Potgieter.
I was using a Ruger m77 in a .338 Win Mag with 250 gr. Noslar Partitions
My first African animal, 51 1/2" Kudu
Second was a warthog while we were looking for Gemsbuck
3rd was my number 1 animal for this trip, the Gemsbuck, mine is a 40" cow.
4th was my Impala
and last was my Blesbuck, this was the only animal I shot on this trip that dropped on the spot!

Gary's Gemsbuck
Gary's Wildebeest

Can't wait to go back!!

m77lewisThanks guys, I'm already planning a return trip for 2016!
The recoil on the 338 is not bad at all, nothing like my 375 Ruger!
