Looks like it takes a couple of those just to make a good sandwich. Great hunt report, we now know something about that kind of hunt.

Interesting turn of events Ed. I would think the exporting shipper would have been aware but then again, what other countries allow, Big Brother here decides how the world goes round. Glad it all worked out without the usual 3rd degree by men in black. Looking forward to seeing your mounts and you at Dallas. Cheers, David

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Die Ou Jagter - Not to be a know it all, but your bird taxidermist's name is Shane Smith. I know him personally and he has done several birds for me over the years. He is the best in the world IMO for birds of all species.

Hope all goes well with the bird and no foul comes (no pun intended).

Solo, yes I read much about Shane and the fact he specialized in birds. These are not the normal or common birds most taxidermists would have experience with. It was a bit of a go around over the Herron but all got sorted out in the end. I am looking forward to adding these trophies to my office. This hunt offered some very nice species to hunt.
