Larry,

Fantastic hunt and what luck! Zambezi does do a great job. I think having Alistair Pole in the background is a great help to them.

Congrats on a great hunt Larry. Looking forward to your pictures. Especially that big buff! Man, a 46"er and a 49"er this year by our AR crew! Some great buff hitting the ground... and I leave for the Omay on the 28th. I hope you guys didn't use up all the mojo! Big Grin

ARDA has been owned by the government (not a person) for a very long time. It isn't a problem.

Anton:

No sign of the elephant. Johnny thinks the client shot it with softs. He had changed ammo in the morning when they chased a kudu.

Great hunt and congrats. My first time in Africa I hunted in Zambia and Murray was filming another client. He is a great guy and that is the same trip I used Lauri Alanthwaite with Osprey as my camera man. Osprey is top notch. I have used Lauri ever since and my experience has been when you have a great camera guy it is like having another PH.

Larry,

Sounds like an outstanding hunt and congrats on the fantastic trophies.

I'm hunting with ZH in June of 2012, just after Will Parks is there, I believe.

They sound like a great outfit to hunt with and I can't wait.

Glad you had a successful trip!

Good for you. I am sure you will do well. These are serious big game hunters. If I can answer any questions about that trip, contact me and I will help you where i can.

Larry,
Great trophies and good narrative. What a monster buff. I was the guy you met last year at the boundary in the Save....Lion King hat...Did not go to the Save this year but in the spring went to Cahorra Basa on Mozambique side. Have not posted report as yet. Hope to hunt elephant next.
Are you going back next year? How did they do on lion in the Save this season?
19 October 2010, 16:02
larryshores
Universalman:

Yes, I remember you and the hat. I thought it was hysterical. I actually thought about you as we passed the road we met you on.

I don't know about the entirety of the Save. However Zambezi shot their entire quota including a real brute with exceptional mane taken in Sango.

At this point, I am going back in 2012 in all likelihood . I have yet to make plans for 2011 other than my annual trek to Argentina.

If I could get my 45"+ Sable in from Kazungula (aka Unit 6) in early 2004, no problem! Madam actually came to camp while I was there, escorting a load of petrol to insure my USD would be well spent...quite charming Lady....considering her husband!

I finally got an e mail today with the weight of the tusks. They are 53x50. I had estimated the weight in the 48-52 range. At least I was close.
