| LH, It would be a nasty thing for sure. I would go with the 445 super mag in a 10 incher and you should get about the same volocity without all that unburnt powder. Too much powder in that big triple 4 brass to burn in that short barrel. [ 06-27-2003, 06:17: Message edited by: Jules ] |

| Planning on chrono'ing Sat 6/28/2003 will post results Bill
Results:
Behind 52grs of H322 a 240 gr. Win Bullets out of my 10" rechamber travels at 1627,1635, and 1685. The average is 1649. I believe this is what the 44mag does in a 14" barrel.
Great little gun to carry then putting a deer drive on.

| I created a "chart" at the Specialty Pistols site to keep track of our results. Feel free to add you own, please use the same format. Link > 44 Caliber Velocity Comparison [ 06-30-2003, 06:07: Message edited by: MSSmagnum ] |

Still Thinking about it. I have 100 rounds of 445SM brass and 44Mag dies so I may go with that. I realy like the feel and ballance of the 10" 44Mag Contender for woodswalking . But it would be nice to get more power in the same package. I feel the 444 Marlin cases are stronger, but thats a lot of powder to burn. The next question is, Rechamber?, Buy used?, Buy new?, Or Custom? It will probly be next springs project. Our group drew Wyoming Antilope tags, so I have to save up for the trip out west. |
