I have a Contender barrel and will be putting a Burris 3-12 AO scope on it. I usually use Burris Zee rings "low" (weaver type)... does this Burris scope usually require more clearance? requiring the "medium" rings? I need to order them and want to get the correct height rings. The mount is a Virgin Valley six screw weaver type. I think it sets a tad lower than a regular weaver brand mount.

If those rings have worked with scopes with similar sized objective lenses in the past, they should work OK with the Burris 3 to 12. The adjustable objective doesn't take up that much space. I used the high rings on my Encore. Not for barrel clerance but to have more room to cock the hammer under my 3 to 12 Burris scope. Your milage may vary in that regard...Rusty

Jeff: I went with the high rings because I wanted to be able to cock the hammer with a fairly thick pair of gloves on, your milage may vary...Rusty.
